One of the more important aspects of keeping assets protected is proofing them from judgments. If you are the type of person who needs an offshore account, you probably need to hide it from someone. By judgment proofing your assets, you are effectively doing this against the wishes of those who may seek to take away what is yours. These parties may include, but are not limited to, your family members, business partners and enemies.

As with any case, one of the best ways to judgment proof an asset is to protect it with walls and layers. The best way to do this in Panama is to create a bearer share corporation and a private foundation that owns said corporation. These entities will not be owned by you, publicly, and will be able to maintain the integrity of your assets while your enemies look for them. These assets also cannot be frozen by a court order, in Panama that sort of thing never happens and cannot be looked into without a proper Panama court order, which is rarely ever given to foreigners. Panama has around twenty percent of their population working in banks. In these banks, they only do good business because of their promises of secrecy no matter what. Do you really think they would give up these secrets to a judgment made in another country?

The people who will be mostly trying to collect these judgments will be collection agencies. Not to be petty, but we are confident that those who go into law do not wish to be in the collection agency business when they grow up. Often times, because of it, collection agencies will be full of sadists and bullies who want to make up for failures earlier in their lives. This means you need to look out even more so than with normal litigation. Collection agents are, don’t be mistaken, usually very good at their jobs and use patterns to see how their objects of desire, you, will act. They know you are hiding money offshore and are looking for the slightest reason to prove it. So don’t give them any! If they can’t get the information from you, they won’t get it from Panama banks. They know it is going to cost them more time and money than it is worth to go to Panama and haggle with the legal system there, so they won’t do it unless someone is paying them a lot to. So be nice and keep your secrets to yourself and you will be fine.

It is always important to know the basics of judgment proofing no matter what the object. Assets can only be as protected as you make them and like it or not the legal system may come for your money one day. If it is as secure as it should be, however, you have nothing to worry about.
