From Loose Tax Policies to Strict Asset Protection of Banks - Panama Way of Living |

For ideal offshore living, investment or retirement, tax impositions are usually important for every potential foreigner. Tax impositions have a great deal to do with the cost of living in an offshore place. With this, tax policies should have to be reviewed by every foreigner first. Fortunately, as in the case of Panama, only the best and loose tax policies on foreigners exist here. In fact, with the heavy consideration on tax-imposed policies, this country has been considered as one of the top regarding tax policies on foreigners. And only with its loose tax laws has Panamanian government been deemed as a great retirement haven, one of the best as a matter of fact.
Its supposedly loose tax policies manifest itself in the forms of absence of inheritance tax, minimal property taxes, and most importantly, the absence of offshore-derived income. Briefly, offshore-derived incomes are profits gained outside the country. True enough, one may use the country as a center for any business; say a factory for goods to be exported, specifically not for sale in the local area. This form of exportation business is not burdened by any tax, seeing as the income shall not come from the locals themselves but from buyers outside Panama. Such privilege is good for e-commerce or any offshore goods that can be produced within the country, but not sold in it.
Also in connection with asset protection is the strict implementation of bank secrecy. Bearing an anonymous account, you need not affirm the truth of having an offshore bank account. Any interference from the government, as have been said previously, is not legal under legal circumstances. For that, any foreign interference, much less, are not guaranteed entry. The bank itself holds strict implementation of this policy of asset protection nor are they to send any blatant or conspicuous certainty that you hold that anonymous bank account – mailings are tightly guarded, if not, prohibited at all. And should any employee or administrator disclose any information regarding the bank account you hold with them, punishment according to law shall be dealt with.
