Belize used to be British Honduras. With its wondrous beaches and aquamarine waters, it is predictably located in the place to be: the Caribbean. A small country to be sure, Belize nonetheless boasts the Barrier Reef, 185 miles of exquisite coral reefs, home to rare species of marine life and awaiting your curious exploration. Premiere diving, snorkeling and fishing experiences are guaranteed. Aside from this, you can also watch out for the friendly whales, or go sailing, kayaking and canoeing. On slow afternoons, gaze at the horizon and await the glorious color palette that the setting sun paints the sky. Have a leisurely swim at its placid and sheltered beaches. If you feel like a hike, turn inwards and explore the Mountain Pine Ridge forest reserve or any of the national parks where various flora and fauna abound. Entertain yourself by watching out for and taking pictures of the 600 bird species that have already been sighted in Belize’s forests. Perhaps you can begin your very own Belize bird photographic guide. There are not many noisy nightclubs and sprawling malls in Belize. However, there’s no lack of activities to do and places to see, either. A perfect mix of beauty, peace and adventure, wouldn’t you say? |
