Food can be bought in grocery stores here in Panama, but there is a huge savings if you shop in the open markets.  Many vendors compete in the open markets and prices are rock bottom low.  A family of four can buy all their groceries for $50-$75 per week.  Much cheaper than America, Canada, England, or anywhere else in the UK.  Because the wages are so low in Panama, you can hire a full time (really full time - not like North America) maid and driver for just $400 a month.  It's like being royalty having servants to help.  The driver goes out (and also acts as an escort if you have kids) and does all your errands.  The maid cleans and cooks.  It's like living in an all-inclusive resort full time!

Jobs, careers and all other forms of employment in Panama is not suitable for most people reading this article unless you have an external income source.  Retirees will find they can live like a King in Panama on their pension.  A modest income is more than enough money in Panama.

With such low wages you will want to take advantage of cheap services.  On the other hand employment law in Panama allows employees to easily sue you so I recommend avoiding these situations and try to use a service instead of employees.

If you do hire someone in Panama you will not have to pay benefits.  There is no law to force you to pay a pension, benefits, dental medical and the like.
