Divorce: Protect your Money Offshore from your Cheating Ex-Wife or Ex-Husband Print E-mail

In a divorce nobody wins.  Still many times, a spouse chooses to be unfaithful, and leaves their ex-husband or ex-wife holding the bag.  Its completely unfair, and often, through trickery, the courts are fooled into believing a lie.  We have received more calls than we care to remember, from a husband or wife who's spouse cleaned out the bank accounts, charge the credit cards, and left the a new lover.

Protect Yourself if you Suspect your Husband or Wife is Cheating

Don't wait until you wake up one morning to find the bank accounts cleaned out, your credit cards charged to the max and your spouse gone.  Many people think, "Oh, he/she wouldn't do that".  If you are in this situation you are probably half in denial anyway.  If you are reading this article, its a very good indication that subconsciously you know that you are at a definite risk.

Protect Your Kids from your Cheating Spouse

If you have kids to protect, their well being is more important than all the other things going on in your life.  Even if your life is upside down, do everything within your power to shield and protect them.   Think about this, if your spouse is cheating, they have already disregarded your feelings for their selfish ambitions.  Whether you want to believe it or not, they are likely to do the same to your children.  They will spend money that should rightfully go to supporting the kids.  Yes the courts will help, later after the money is spent.  You need to take action now.

Protect your Money Panama Foundation and Bank Account

Don't let the idea of an offshore foundation scare you.  A foundation is basically a "Trust" and a corporation combined.  It is ideal for this type of protection, because your money can be "donated" into the trust.  Once the trust owns the money no person or even a court can force you to give them the money.  The reason is because a foundation (like a trust) is its own legal entity and cannot be owned by anyone.  Imagine if you were to donate money to the "Heart and Stroke Foundation of America" and then someone told you to get the money back.  Impossible right?  Therein lies your protection.  No one can force you to get money back out of the foundation!

Panama Banks are Among the Safest in the World

Banks in Panama did not get involved in the risky lending practices (cause by temporary mass insanity?) of North America and Europe.  No sub-prime mortgages, no 10% or 5% or no money down mortgages.  Just sane lending practices like 25% down if you a resident and 30% down for nonresidents.

Panama Courts Discourage Foreign Attacks

Panama courts rarely make a judgement for the plaintiff.  Panama has a vested interest in protecting its offshore banking industry.  Courts generally favor the Panama company over a foreign attacker.

Panama law does not recognise foreign judgements, foreign laws about marital related matters, etc.  Any attack on your money that is brought to Panama would be rejected "out of hand" on this technicality.  The attacker would need to come to Panama, pay Panama lawyers (which don't come cheap), and file a case against you.  This almost never happens.  Once the money is offshore in Panama it is essentially out of reach.  Most onshore attorneys are aware that once the money is in Panama its a dead end trail unless the client wants to spend large amounts of money, and even then, the changes are very slim any money can be recovered.

How can I Access the Money in Panama

There are two ways to use the money that is in the Panama Foundation.  Your bank account will comes with a Visa Debit Card, which allows you to use the money anywhere visa is accepted, and at bank machines to withdraw cash (up to $1000 per day).  The other alternative is to wire money to your onshore bank account.  If you are worried about anyone noticing the money trail from Panama read the next section.

How can I send the Money to Panama without leaving a Money Trail?

In these types of situations a direct money trail to Panama isn't ideal.  To avoid this, we recommend a money exchanger service in Canada.  Call us for details.  They will exchange your funds if required (at a much better rate than the bank offers).  The money exchanger service will then wire your money to your Panama bank account.  If no exchange is needed they will just rewire your money without exchanging it for a small fee.  So anyone looking at your bank account would just see that you sent your money to be exchanged.  Anyone wanting to find out where the money went after that would have to go to Canada and convince a Canadian judge to open the records of the money exchanger.  Canada has privacy laws, that are not near what Panama has to offer, but still take some effort to overcome.  The money exchanger, would notify us that someone is after your money, and we would then in turn notify you.  So this option has a double benefit, giving you an early warning that an attack is brewing, giving you plenty of advance warning to move your money elsewhere.
