In the Cayman Islands there are two classes of partnerships that can be formed which are Partnerships and Limited Partnerships and the Exempted Limited Partnerships.

The Partnerships and Limited Partnerships can be formed under the Partnership Law of 1983. This one follows a close proximity to English statute.
The Exempted Limited Partnerships can be formed under the Exempted Limited Partnership Law of 1991. This one follows a close proximity to the Delaware model. Exempted Limited Partnerships also known as ELP’s is characteristically an American limited partnership that is in an offshore setting. The best feature of this partnership is that you only need to provide basic information on the general partner. You do not have to provide any information on the limited partnerships. This gives companies the perfect way in which to conduct business in total anonymity while doing business abroad.
