|
If you wish to go offshore, you won’t just be drawing lots to find out which international offshore center you should invest your business and interests in. There are a few elements needed to be considered when making that one time big time decision. These are the bank license, bank security, condition of the weather, currency, infrastructure, MLAT, privacy of corporation, stability of the government, taxation fees, tax treaties and ties with the EU.
Keeping a healthy business going requires a healthy environment. Panama is strategically located within the globe and possesses low risk of natural phenomenon such as earthquakes, hurricanes and landslides. Offshore banking is therefore given a smooth operation without any worries about the weather changes and conditions and any other natural phenomenon.
There are different types of banking licenses. These licenses are applied for and thus determine under which conditions a bank shall operate. Such conditions include services for and between residents and non-residents and the country related to the needed services offered. Once involved into offshore ventures, security policies are also a must. Any information pertaining to the identity of the individuals or parties involved and the affairs that are conducted within shall not be revealed to anybody.
The MLAT is simply a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty which keeps track of the countries that entered into agreement with other countries. Moving on, treaties on tax are made all over the globe. Although Panama may have strong ties with EU in strengthening its services for offshore ventures, Panama has no involvement into any treaty or any agreements with other countries that may put its clients in disadvantage.
Most of all, security can be very much felt in Panama, a country with a government handled very well. It has a very stable environment especially with significant maintenance of needed resources such as energy and water and other economic infrastructures as well.
